A days shooting with the Schoffel Country team

IS THERE A BETTER WAY TO SPEND A WINTER’S DAY? WE DON’T THINK SO!

So many details combine to make a day’s shooting special. There’s the physical – the dogs, the food, the quarry, the wood fires, the tweed, the landscapes, and the wildlife. And there’s the intangible – the atmosphere, the anticipation, the camaraderie, the tradition, and the excitement. They’re all interlinked in one way or another and to put them in order of importance would be impossible and missing the point.

But there is one aspect, alluded to but not mentioned above, that will always rank highly in the must-have stakes, and that is great company. If you’re with the right people, everything else tends to fall into place.

Recently, our team at Schöffel Country enjoyed a day’s shooting at Ragley Hall in Warwickshire. It was the perfect opportunity to get out of the office for some time together in the countryside after a very busy year. And what a day it was!

Our team members live and breathe the countryside. Throughout the season, they can be found in gunbuses and beaters’ wagons, picking up behind the line, or even driving the game carts on their local shoots.

So, how did it go? How many of those special ingredients were present? We’ll let you make your mind up…
